OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Douglas County Sheriff has sharpened his message concerning street racing and reckless driving around Omaha, and what happened this past weekend certainly got a lot of attention.

Those who are into cars know the one thing that law enforcement can do if they see street racers or reckless driving. It’s the thing that hits car lovers the hardest: seizure of their prized possession. Their vehicle.

That’s exactly what happened in Omaha over the weekend. An orange Dodge Charger impounded because its driver was racing.

“It has got to come to and end,” said Sheriff Aaron Hanson. “Again, if you want to engage in this type of behavior, you better get a bike and you better get a flip phone from your grandma, because you’re going to need both of those very soon…”
