OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has accomplished one of the largest seizures of carfentanil in U.S. history.
In a release sent Monday, the DCSO, in conjunction with the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS), became aware of an effort to smuggle carfentanil analogue pills into the Omaha metro.
According to the statement, the investigation grew to include multiple other federal and state agencies.
Since the beginning of the investigation in November, more than 30 pounds of carfentanil, or about 150,000 pills, have been seized.
